Q. I wonder if you have in your archives a singular sporting event which brought a conference championship to the university under most unusual circumstances a little more than 50 years ago. The team that won the conference championship was not part of the university’s athletics program; it was a club team. This Cinderella team won the conference championship on its first attempt!
